Jaydon Blue’s fate for Week 11 Monday Night Football against the Las Vegas Raiders got a hint when the Cowboys elevated RB Malik Davis from the practice squad.
Everyone still had to wait for the inactive report about 90 minutes before kickoff to know the scoop for sure.
And even with the expectation, the news still felt a bit surprising.

No, Jaydon Blue is not playing Monday night for the Cowboys against the Raiders.
He was listed as inactive on the official report that came out 90 minutes before the game got underway.
Jaydon Blue is inactive, so he can’t play, but beyond that, it’s less certain.
He’s a healthy scratch, not injured.
Cowboys writer Marcus Mosher recently published a story that explained it like this:
“He clearly needs more reps and the only way that he can learn is by playing more. But the coaches don’t trust him and is a liability as a pass-blocker and his lack of physicality in the run game is jarring.”
It’s a tough situation for Dallas with its fifth-round pick.
Javonte Williams soaks up most of the work, so there isn’t much opportunity for any backup.
On Monday, Blue won’t even get a chance.
